Travelling with a baby under two isn't about going far — it's about going smart. The best destinations for the very little ones share a short flight, easy healthcare, calm surroundings and rooms you can actually rest in. Here's where families with babies travel happily from India, plus the things worth knowing before you book.
The short, soft-landing escapes
~1 hour flight
Goa
The gentlest first trip. A short hop from most Indian cities, with calm northern beaches, family resorts, paediatric care nearby and ground-floor rooms that open onto the pool. Low effort, high reward.
Calm by design
Kerala
A private houseboat moves at walking pace, the air is clean and the rhythm is slow — exactly what a baby (and a tired parent) wants. Pair it with a quiet hill stay in Munnar for cool nights.
~4 hour flight
Phuket & Krabi, Thailand
Resort Thailand is built for families — interconnecting rooms, baby cots as standard, shallow pools and kind, capable staff. Krabi's calmer beaches suit the littlest travellers better than the busy strips.
~4.5 hour flight
Singapore
Possibly the most baby-friendly city in Asia: spotless, stroller-flat, world-class healthcare and feeding rooms everywhere. Short enough to fly, easy enough to relax the moment you land.
~4 hour flight · winter only
Dubai
Stroller-friendly malls, excellent hospitals and beach resorts with kids' facilities. Travel between November and March to avoid the summer heat, which is too much for infants.
~3.5 hour flight
Maldives
A single resort island means no logistics once you arrive — and many resorts offer babysitting, baby amenities and villas with private pools. Choose a property with a short or direct speedboat transfer rather than a long seaplane leg.
With a baby, the destination matters less than the design of the trip: short flights, one base, a kitchen within reach and nothing scheduled too tightly.
Eight things worth knowing before you go
- Fly around naps. Book flights that overlap your baby's longest sleep, and feed during take-off and landing to ease ear pressure.
- One base beats a tour. A single resort or villa for the whole stay saves the exhausting pack-unpack cycle.
- Ask for a kitchenette. Being able to sterilise, warm milk and store food changes everything. We request this with the property in advance.
- Carrier and stroller both. A carrier for sand, stairs and uneven streets; a stroller for malls and naps on the move.
- Pack a small medical kit. Your paediatrician's advice, a thermometer and familiar medicines — plus a note of doses.
- Mind the heat. Choose cooler months for warm destinations and keep the middle of the day for shade and naps.
- Check vaccinations early. Some countries have requirements or recommendations for infants — confirm well before booking.
- Insure the trip. Family travel insurance that covers infants is non-negotiable. We'll make sure it's in place.
Tell us your baby's age and how far you're willing to fly, and we'll match you to a place — and a room — built for travelling small.
